Five Minutes with...Julien Wilson

David Ades was regarded as one of Australia’s finest saxophonists. He developed a unique sound and enjoyed taking it around the world, playing with some of the finest musicians on the planet.

David’s close friends Zac Hurren and Julien Wilson pay a fond and heartfelt tribute to Ades and his music as part of our Summer Sessions on Saturday 16 January.

Critics and fans alike hail pianist and composer her as one of the most original voices in jazz today. A truly global artist, she splits her time between Berlin and Japan and tours internationally leading several ensembles.

We spoke to Satoko to gain an understanding of what has driven her to become the outstanding virtuoso she is today.
